Meet Dr. Iftikhar Hussain

MD, Medical Director

Dr. Iftikhar Hussain is a nationally recognized leader in allergy and immunology, known for his pioneering research and his commitment to advancing patient care.

  • Fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine

  • Groundbreaking research on allergic rhinosinusitis and anti IL 5 therapies

  • Academic leadership at the University of Iowa, where he initiated multiple clinical trials

  • A lifelong dedication to translating scientific discovery into real world patient solutions

Today, Dr. Hussain leads Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Center of Tulsa with a dual focus: innovative research and compassionate, individualized care. His work continues to expand treatment options for patients who have exhausted conventional therapies.

Meet Cristina Barnes, FNP

Cristina Barnes brings warmth, expertise, and a patient first mindset to Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Center of Tulsa. A former patient herself, Cristina joined the team after witnessing Dr. Hussain’s innovative approach to medicine during her clinical rotation.

Her background includes:

  • MSN and BSN from the University of Oklahoma, both earned with honors
  • Is proud to be a Certified Asthma Educator
  • Membership in the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology
  • On a mission to establish national certification standards in allergy, asthma, and immunology for nurse practitioners and physician assistants

Cristina is dedicated to empowering patients with knowledge and the confidence to take an active role in their care.
